Kraig began his Vail Valley real estate career in 1980 and soon was selected as one of half a dozen pioneer brokers to represent Vail Associates Real Estate in the then fledgling Beaver Creek Resort. He was consistently a top producer distinguishing himself as one of the preeminent real estate professionals in the Vail Valley, successfully closing over $1 Billion in property sales.
In 1990, as the principal, Kraig acquired and developed Wayne Creek Commons subdivision, an enclave of 14 homes in Beaver Creek. The unique cottage homes within command premium values as a result of Kraig’s thoughtful market driven design details and insistence on high quality construction practices.
Kraig organized his own firm, Forbes Group, in 1995. Forbes Group was later recruited by Sotheyb's International Realty. Kraig agreed to affiliate with Sotheby's and his firm was reconsitiuted under the banner Forbes Sotheby's International Realty in 2007. While maintaining his client-focused personal business he grew the firm from 14 to 35 associates in four offices over the ensuing six years. In 2013, he sold the company to what has become the most successful Sotheby’s affiliate in the United States, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
Kraig is currently the managing broker of Resort Concepts Real Estate and the investor in their new Cordillera Valley Club enclave. All nine homes have been pre-sold and are currently under construction.
Kraig served on the Beaver Creek Metropolitan District Board of Directors. He has been a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and was appointed by the County Commissioners as a member of the Eagle County Affordable Housing Task Force.
A true Vail Valley real estate expert, Kraig focuses today primarily on the listing and sale of property in the exclusive Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead communities. His intuitive understanding of these unique real estate markets is of great benefit to his long list of clients, many of whom he has represented in multiple transactions.
